Marilee began her professional glass art career as a
volunteer at Louisville Glassworks. In 2005 she
joined the management staff at Glassworks as
Director of the Tours & Activities departments and
subsequently as Director of Glassworks class
programming. In November of 2007, along with
Rhonda Snyder and the Tour staff, she opened the
Walk-In Workshop at Glassworks, bringing cold and
warm glass activities to the forefront of the Louisville
Glassworks experience. Marilee retired from the
Tours and Walk-In Workshop in August 2008 to
focus on her own studio work, opening Marilee
Glass Design, LLC. Her work focuses on warm glass,
using the kiln to create jewelry, plates, bowls and
other fused works. Her innate sense of balance,
harmony and symmetry are evident in her design
work.
Marilee enjoys sharing her knowledge and is happy
teaching others the joy and satisfaction of creating
with warm glass. She currently teaches glass jewelry
classes at the Glassworks Walk-In Workshop in
Louisville, KY.
